Custom-dyed skirt

Started out life as a floor-length off-white old heavy cotton skirt with ruffles. Dyed it red, then dip-dyed the bottom with Black rit dye (ended up purple instead of black, cool!). Didn't cut any length off, just folded up the front and sewed at waistband, tacked at sides so it cascades down to the back.

EL-Wire DragonFly Accessory

I made this dragonfly on a stiff mesh needlepoint backing so I can pin it to my aqua/green fur jacket or to my camelback. It was easy-peasy, and I didn't even have to solder the el-wire since I bought "plug and play" units from CoolNeon. YAY!

I had a lovely closed style abaya from Egypt, which was far too tight over my hips and tummy. I slit it up the sides (well-made garment, hard to alter!), made a full skirt of playa-colored cotton, and a very long matching scarf. All cotton should be cool in the desert while keeping the sun and dust off my skin.

Anti M's floorcloth runner

On floorcloth purchased on ebay. NOT a dropcloth. Primed and painted with indoor acrylic paint, detail painting in craft acrylic. Never has flaked, flexible to roll up. Does get dusty and must be swept, so bring a broom. Rinses clean with fresh water. yes, that's playa dust still on it. grommets let us nail it into the playa so we don't trip on the edges. The wind can and will lift a ground cover.
