I have many platform shoes, adding 6 inches or so to my height, but has anyone ever made any sort of...moon boot or something to add more height? Not stilts, just like...I dunno, a foot or so? That would be easier to traverse hills and gravel paths with than my Demonia goth stuff...

Re: Adding height...
Wed, June 24, 2009 - 6:31 PMHave you looked in to dry walling stilts?
Once you start adding a foot or so in hight you will need to have a calf plate or some kind of knee support other wise if you do fall over it will be big time bad news for your ankles. -

Thu, June 25, 2009 - 8:01 AMIn 2007 I saw some guys dressed as robots with 5 gallon buckets as platforms, head to toe covered in silver fabric and duct tape. Not that technical but maybe an inspiration ;) -

Re: Adding height...
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 9:20 AMActually, shortly after posting this, I did find the drywall stilts! I'm told they're not easy to walk on, though, and those EXTREME! jumping ones work fine.
I love the DIY and cheap cost of paint cans and buckets, but I don't think I'd get far, over gravel roads and grassy heels, in 'em. :P
I guess I'll just start saving up for some of the jumpy hoo-has...thanks for the input! -

Thu, June 25, 2009 - 10:58 AMThis is more for making a regular shoe into a platform, but might work for what you're doing too.

The video is a bit hard to follow but kinda a supplement to the text article.
Hope you get them to work, I'm thinking about trying this out too! XD -

Re: Adding height...
Mon, June 29, 2009 - 7:14 AMInteresting...the first wooden and rope ones sound uncomfortable (no arch support or anything) and hard to walk in. The second one, I wonder if the screws would rip into the foam/rubbing sole? Guess I'll have to try it! I'll start keeping an eye out at thrift stores for some shoes - and a drill...maybe combine the two, a tall wooden platform screwed to a sneaker.
